Australian Small-Cap Investigator
Small caps are often ignored by the mainstream media and major research houses, and that’s to our advantage. I call this phenomenon informational asymmetry. In this service we aim to get ahead of the big moves, long before they show up on the radar of these outlets.
Lachlann Tierney
Editor,
Australian Small-Cap Investigator
Since Australian Small-Cap Investigator was launched back in 2007, the mission has been the same…
To uncover and recommend the most exciting small companies on the ASX.
These are stocks that most mainstream analysts ignore.
But over the last five years, Australian Small-Cap Investigator has given its subscribers opportunities to make some impressive gains from stocks we’ve recommended, often outperforming the All Ordinaries Index [ASX:XAO] that tracks the Aussie market.
And if you like the idea of allocating a little ‘risk money’ towards some key small-caps…for the chance of making outsized returns…consider joining Australian Small-Cap Investigator…
It takes a certain cowboy mentality to analyse and invest in these stocks. But the potential for rapid capital growth in this part of the market is what draws investors to it in the first place.
Let me be your tour guide through this part of the market …where risk is ever-present and the hunt for ‘the next big thing” continues …
It’s Lachlann (or Lachy) here, by the way. I’m the chief analyst of Australian Small-Cap Investigator.
I started out in elite institutions, studying philosophy and politics, before I decided financial markets were more interesting than academia.
So I spent four years at Fat Tail Investment Research before moving to one of Australia’s leading microcap/small-cap firms for another four years as a senior equities analyst.
Over that time I vetted seed, pre-IPO and ASX-listed companies, conducted site visits, and built strong networks across the space.
I’d see and talk to companies before they even listed — which was eye-opening.
Now at Fat Tail, I want to bring a strong sense of the people and firms involved in the small-cap space to my work via Australian Small-Cap Investigator.
I feel incredibly honoured to head this publication, which has a remarkable history…
